The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics-STEM Public Secondary
Schools of Egypt established by the Ministry of Education aims to create access for
talented students to quality education through integrated curriculum, project based
learning, real world applications, critical thinking and a pioneering spirit. This initiative
directly supports a new vision for Egypt as a country equipped with both the human
capital and institutional resources to not only compete, but excel in the international
marketplace. The STEM Schools plan to serve as incubators for future leaders and
innovators who will have the potential to advance the forefront of research and
development initiatives that fuel scientific invention and generate employment
opportunities and economic growth for Egypt. The Ministry of Education hopes to
transform its current STEM High Schools into a collaborative STEM network covering
the country with one school in each governorate.
STEM Schools are interested in hiring:
1. Teachers
2. Deputy Principals
3. Principals
to fill existing positions in their current Sixth of October School for Boys, Zahraa El
Maadi School for Girls and expected vacancies in new schools opening September
2014 in Alexandria, Daqahleya and Assuit. Candidates from ALL governorates may
apply but the Ministry will not be responsible for any accommodation due to
relocation. The required Qualifications are:
a. To be a current Ministry of Education teacher
b. University graduate
c. Well versed in their subject of specialization
d. Proficient in the English language
e. Civic-minded and capable of being a STEM problem solver teacher
f. Ready to be part of the continuum of professional development training
provided at each school by international STEM experts
Candidates will have to pass:
i. An aptitude test
ii. A subject related competency test
iii. English Language Proficiency tests
iv. Leadership test for positions 2&3
to qualify for an interview aimed to select the successful candidates. If you are
